Your adventure begins at Dugort Pier on Achill Island, where our boat will take you along the rugged northern coastline. Pass iconic sights including Sliabh Mór, dramatic seal caves, Annagh Beach, and Annagh Head, before reaching the towering Croaghaun Cliffs, Ireland’s highest sea cliffs and the 3rd highest in Europe at 688 m (2,257 ft).

On the rare occasion when sea conditions prevent access to the cliffs, we offer an alternative tour to the Historic Village of Blacksod, with an optional visit to Blacksod Lighthouse to continue your adventure safely.

Time to Explore

While the tour focuses on the cliffs from the water, you also have time to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery along the northern side of Achill Island. Keep your camera ready for seabirds, seals, and the dramatic landscapes that make this area so unique.

What a brilliant trip to Blacksod and the lighthouse today. It was a great visit out and to get to see the lighthouse and it’s history and more history about the area. The lighthouse is fascinating with how it works and the role of the weather station in WW2. The lobster was an unexpected bonus!! The boat trip was fantastic thanks to all for making such a wonderful family trip out and especially to Jed for skippering the boat and being great at making the day extra special for the kids!

Fantastic trip across the bay to to meet the wonderful character Jerry Sweeney who was a fountain of knowledge regarding this history of Blacksod. The kids had a ball, driving the boat was the highlight of their holiday. Will definitely book again when we are back in Achill.

Thanks for a lovely fishing trip this evening. Perfect weather conditions and we caught lots of Mackerel and a few Pollock. Jed was a great Captain who went out of his way to make sure we all caught some fish! I woud highly recommend doing a trip with Wild West Boat Tours!
