About Wild
West Boat Tours

Wild West Boat Tours is a family run business with over 30 years of experience
operating charter boats from our home port of Blacksod Bay, on Ireland’s rugged west coast

A Family Business You Can Trust

As a family run operation, we pride ourselves on offering a friendly, personal service. Many of our guests return year after year, bringing friends and family with them to experience the west coast as it should be seen, from the sea, guided by people who know it best.

Whether you are joining us for sightseeing, fishing, or a private charter, you can expect a relaxed atmosphere, an experienced crew, and a genuine connection to the places we visit.

Exploring the Wild Atlantic Way by Sea

We specialise in boat trips that showcase the very best of Mayo’s coastal scenery, wildlife, and history. Our daily trips to the Inishkea Islands offer visitors the chance to step ashore on uninhabited islands rich in heritage, where time seems to stand still.

Our Croaghaun Sea Cliffs tours explore the dramatic coastline of Achill Island, home to the highest sea cliffs in Ireland. Viewing these towering cliffs from the water is an unforgettable experience and highlights the raw power and beauty of the Atlantic.

For those seeking a more tailored experience, our boats are also available for private sea angling charters, suitable for beginners and experienced anglers alike.

Our Visitors say
the Nicest Things

What a brilliant trip to Blacksod and the lighthouse today. It was a great visit out and to get to see the lighthouse and it’s history and more history about the area. The lighthouse is fascinating with how it works and the role of the weather station in WW2. The lobster was an unexpected bonus!! The boat trip was fantastic thanks to all for making such a wonderful family trip out and especially to Jed for skippering the boat and being great at making the day extra special for the kids!

Diana B

Had the most amazing boat trip today with Jed to Blacksod. Fantastic trip across the bay to to meet the wonderful character Jerry Sweeney who was a fountain of knowledge regarding this history of Blacksod. The kids had a ball, driving the boat was the highlight of their holiday. Will definitely book again when we are back in Achill.

Jackie B

Thanks for a lovely fishing trip this evening. Perfect weather conditions and we caught lots of Mackerel and a few Pollock. Jed was a great Captain who went out of his way to make sure we all caught some fish! I woud highly recommend doing a trip with Wild West Boat Tours!
