For those seeking a true adventure, our shark fishing trips take you after Blue Sharks and Porbeagle Sharks in the waters off Blacksod Bay. Operating a catch-and-release system, we also tag sharks as part of the Irish Shark Tagging Programme. With a maximum of five anglers per trip, this full-day experience provides an exciting, hands-on opportunity to encounter these incredible creatures under the guidance of experienced skippers.

What a brilliant trip to Blacksod and the lighthouse today. It was a great visit out and to get to see the lighthouse and it’s history and more history about the area. The lighthouse is fascinating with how it works and the role of the weather station in WW2. The lobster was an unexpected bonus!! The boat trip was fantastic thanks to all for making such a wonderful family trip out and especially to Jed for skippering the boat and being great at making the day extra special for the kids!

Fantastic trip across the bay to to meet the wonderful character Jerry Sweeney who was a fountain of knowledge regarding this history of Blacksod. The kids had a ball, driving the boat was the highlight of their holiday. Will definitely book again when we are back in Achill.

Thanks for a lovely fishing trip this evening. Perfect weather conditions and we caught lots of Mackerel and a few Pollock. Jed was a great Captain who went out of his way to make sure we all caught some fish! I woud highly recommend doing a trip with Wild West Boat Tours!
